Emergencies need no appointment, ever. Both of our emergency rooms are open every hour of every day and are walk-in. If this is an emergency, call 911 or come in — do not fill in anything.
Appointments
Two of our four open facilities do not take appointments, and that is not a gap. It is what they are for.
An emergency room cannot run on appointments, because nobody schedules chest pain. Both of ours are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and you walk in. The clinics do take appointments, by telephone, and the numbers are below.
Just come
Fountain Hills Emergency Room and El Mirage Emergency Room are open every hour of every day.
No appointment. No referral. No pre-registration. Walk in, and go to whichever is nearest to you — and if another emergency department is closer than either of ours, that is the right answer tonight.

Call the clinic you want, not the hub. They hold the diary. A call to the hub is a call that has to be passed on.
What to have ready when you call
It makes the call shorter and the appointment better:
- Who the appointment is for, and their date of birth
- Whether they have been seen at that clinic before
- What it is about, in a sentence
- Your insurance details, if you have insurance — and say so if you do not, because that is a normal conversation and not an obstacle
- A list of current medications, including anything bought without a prescription
- Whether you need a particular day or time, so alternatives can be offered straight away
What this page deliberately does not offer
Live self-scheduling. You cannot pick a slot yourself on this site, and we are not going to imply otherwise with a button that opens a form. Appointments are arranged by telephone, with a person.
Emergency room pre-registration. A form that looks like it books an emergency room is worse than no form, because somebody might wait for a confirmation instead of coming in.
If you would rather write than call: a form is slower than a phone call. Please do not include medical details — "a sore throat for four days" is enough for somebody to book the right slot. And if it is urgent, call instead. The telephone is the route that is watched.
Questions people actually ask
Can I be seen today?
Call and ask. We are not going to publish an answer to that on a web page, because it depends on the day, the clinic and what you need — and a promise we cannot keep every time is worse than a straight conversation.
Do I need a referral?
Not for either emergency room. For a clinic appointment, ask when you call — it depends on your insurance rather than on us.
I need an appointment for my child.
Mercy Grace is a paediatrics and primary care clinic — (480) 745-3702. And if a child is seriously unwell tonight rather than next week, an emergency room is open now.
What if I need to cancel?
Call the clinic on the same number. It frees the slot for somebody else, which is the whole reason to bother.
Can I book an appointment at the emergency room to skip the wait?
No — and nobody can. Emergency rooms are ordered by how sick people are, not by who arrived first — which is why somebody who came in after you may go first.
Is there a patient portal?
There is a portal, and we are not describing what it can do until we can describe it accurately. When that is settled, it will be on this page.
Emergency rooms: no appointment, open 24 hours a day, every day of the year — just come in.
