Our services · 24/7
Emergency care, open every hour
Both of our emergency rooms are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Walk in — no appointment and no referral. A board-certified provider sees every patient, and CT, X-ray and a full laboratory are in the building.
Find your nearest emergency room
If this may be life-threatening — chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe difficulty breathing — call 911. Paramedics begin treatment on the way and can tell us you are coming.
Open every hour of the year
24/7/365, both locations. Walk in.
Imaging and lab in the building
CT, X-ray and a full laboratory, staffed around the clock.
A full-scope emergency room
To Arizona standards. What that means is set out below.
A board-certified provider, every visit
Not a promise about a wait — a statement about who sees you.
What a full-scope emergency room means here
Both emergency rooms are full-scope emergency rooms to Arizona standard, and they carry the same equipment and the same service list as each other — so the answer to "which one should I go to" is simply whichever is closer.
In the building: CT, X-ray and a full laboratory, staffed around the clock. A critical care room at each location, for the cases that need one. And the capability to hold and monitor a patient for up to 24 hours where observation is the right call rather than admission.
Ultrasound is called in from an outside mobile service — often during the visit if it is ordered early enough, and otherwise scheduled for the next day.
These are the machines, in this building.
Why the answer usually arrives before you leave
Imaging and laboratory work happen here, during your visit, rather than being sent out and returned later in the week. For a lot of presentations that is the entire difference between going home knowing and going home wondering.
If you need to be admitted
Our emergency rooms are freestanding — emergency departments without an inpatient hospital attached. We provide emergency intervention, and where a patient needs to be admitted or needs hospital-level inpatient care, we stabilise them here and arrange the transfer. That is the design rather than a limitation. None of that is a promise about your visit; it is a description of how the building works.
Children
We are not a pediatric emergency room, and we treat children every day. Both halves of that matter. Our emergency rooms are equipped and staffed to assess and stabilise a child, and where a child needs a specialist level of paediatric care we arrange the transfer rather than keep them.
What we treat
Emergency rooms do not work from a list, and a list is not how you should decide whether to come. If something is sudden, severe, or getting worse while you watch it, that is the door. Among the things our teams see and treat every day: chest pain, breathing difficulty including COPD and croup, injuries and crush injuries, dislocations, infections and fever, abdominal pain, allergic reactions, heat illness, and scorpion envenomation. Stroke is assessed and treated here.
If you are unsure, come in — this list is not exhaustive and you are not expected to diagnose yourself.
Which door do you need? →Cost
Ability to pay is not a barrier to assessment and access to care in our emergency rooms, and by law. An emergency visit bills at emergency rates, which are not clinic rates, and we would rather say so here than let you discover it afterwards. If cost is the obstacle, tell us when you arrive.
Where to go
Fountain Hills Emergency Room
9700 N Saguaro Blvd, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268
El Mirage Emergency Room

Not sure which you need? Go to whichever is closer. In an emergency, distance is clinical rather than logistical — the minutes between a community and its nearest emergency department are the ones that matter most.
