Primary Care and Pediatrics in Gilbert

Published September 17, 2026 · 4 min read

This is a clinic, not an emergency room, and it is not open around the clock. If it might be an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department — which in Gilbert will not be one of ours, and that is the right answer anyway. The nearest door is the right door.

Mercy Grace Pediatrics & Primary Care — (480) 745-3702 Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM · Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM · closed Saturday and Sunday Appointments required. Address, map and directions

What it is

A primary care clinic geared towards families with children.

Mostly paediatrics, and it also sees adults — which is the point of it. A family can get their care in the same place rather than running two relationships at two addresses on two schedules.

That is a better description than either “pediatrician” or “family practice” alone, and it is why the clinic is set up the way it is.

Appointments are required, and this is the thing to know before you drive over

Mercy Grace does not take walk-ins.

The honest reason: it is consistently fully booked, with a lot of families using it for their children’s care. Turning up without an appointment does not get you seen — it gets you a drive home.

So call first. (480) 745-3702

And call by phone. This number is not monitored for text messages. A text will not reach anybody, which matters most in exactly the situation where somebody would reach for it.

If it is urgent today and you cannot get an appointment

Two honest options, and neither is “wait it out.”

If it might be an emergency, it is an emergency — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In Gilbert that will not be one of ours, and that does not matter in the slightest. Go to the closest one.

If it is urgent but not an emergency, our Fountain Hills clinic does take walk-ins on an urgent care basis — the only one in the network that does — (602) 671-7981. Whether that is worth the journey from Gilbert is genuinely your call, and we are not going to pretend it is around the corner.

Which door do you need is written for this exact decision, and it does not assume you will pick ours.

What a clinic is the right place for

The continuing things. Well-child visits and immunisations, growth and development, school and sports forms, chronic conditions that need watching, medication reviews, the referrals that open doors elsewhere.

And the relationship itself, which is the part people underrate. A clinician who knows a child’s history reads a new symptom differently from anyone meeting them for the first time — that is not sentiment, it is a clinical advantage, and it is the strongest argument for having a primary care relationship before you need one.

What a clinic cannot be is an emergency department. No emergency room hours, no emergency imaging overnight, no resuscitation capability standing by.

We are not only for Gilbert

Our service area is the east and west valley and all surrounding cities. The town in the title of this page is search engine plumbing, not a boundary — nobody is turned away for living somewhere else.

Questions people actually ask

Can I walk in? No. Appointments are required. Ring first.

Can I text the clinic? No. The number is not monitored for texts. Call.

Does it see adults, or only children? Both. Mostly paediatrics, and adults as well — it is built for families to be seen in one place.

Is it open at the weekend? No. Monday to Thursday until 6:00 PM, Friday morning until noon, closed Saturday and Sunday.

My child is ill tonight and you are closed. If it might be an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait for the clinic to open to find out. When a fever in a baby needs an emergency room is the page for that decision, and it is written to be read at 2am.

Is there an emergency room in Gilbert I should use? The nearest one to you, whoever runs it. We do not have an emergency room in Gilbert and we are not going to send you across the valley for one.

Do you take my insurance? Ring and ask with your plan details — for a clinic appointment that genuinely matters, and the rules are different from emergency care.

About your bill, before you worry about it

Ability to pay is not a barrier to assessment and access to care in our emergency rooms — by law. An emergency visit bills at emergency rates, which are not clinic rates, and we would rather tell you that now than have you find out afterwards.

If anything you receive after a visit is unclear, call the facility you were seen at before you pay it. They hold the record of your visit, and they would rather explain a statement than have you pay something you do not owe.
